Leadership Oconee
Mission Statement
The mission of Leadership Oconee is to provide future leaders an opportunity to develop individual and group leadership skills, gain greater awareness of issues in Oconee County, and commit to a specific project beneficial to this community.

Leadership Oconee is an annual program sponsored by the Oconee County Chamber of Commerce. This program's aim is to educate men and women on the needs and issues of Oconee County for the purpose of making a positive change through commitment to community involvement.

  • to develop team building, leadership, personal and interpersonal skills.
  • to provide first-hand observation and knowledge about Oconee County issues, its citizens and its community resources.
  • to be prepared to become a more informed and active member of the community.
  • to exchange ideas with a diverse group of people responsible for problem solving today and planning for the future in a wide range of endeavors.
  • to become an active member of the chamber by joining a chamber committee of your choice.

Leadership Oconee XXII

​Nominations are now being accepted for Leadership Oconee XXII, which will begin in August.  If you know someone who would be a good candidate for next year’s class (a co-worker, spouse, friend, yourself…), please fill out the form and return it to scaven@oconeechamber.org by May 25, 2017. All nominees will receive an application in June.  From all applications received, only twenty participants will be invited to take part in Leadership Oconee XXII.

​Congratulations to the Adult Leadership Class LOXX on graduation.  This year’s participants included Adam Webb, Angel Jackson, Austin Marable, Bryan Bufford, Carrie Olson, Chase West, Dallas LeDuff, Dave Esary, Ellen Goad, Joshua Collins, Kristi Greer, Lorie Petersen, Mark Saxon, Mychell Lang, Sheila Hunter, Suzanne Nelms, Tammy  Gilland, Tara Bulger, Tim Griffeth, Tyler Jefcoat and Weston Kiley.   Facilitators for this year’s session were Kay Keller, Elizabeth  Hovell,  Candice Meeler and Scott Norris.
